SC 451 1.30f 03 Feb 06 Sculpted Tortoises Celestial sphere, a sculpture by artist Paul Manship at the UN headquarters in Geneva. The sphere is supported by four tortoises that are difficult to discern on the stamp because the image is a hologram and therefore not sharp. Pictures of the sphere from other sources clearly show that the small figures are tortoises. Stamp inscribed "Salutations des Nations Unies". UN symbol in upper left corner. Pictures of the sphere from other sources (e.g. - www.celestialsphere.ch) clearly show that the small figures are tortoises.
