40000db 25 May 06 Unidentified Tortoise Single stamp from Scott #1606. One tortoise facing left plus head of tortoise in upper left corner of stamp. On the stamp the tortoise is identified as Malacochersus tornieri but this is obviously incorrect. This is most certainly not a pancake tortoise.

40000db 2011 Two Species Cinderella s/s w/ two 40000db stamps; one w/ iguanas, one w/ giant tortoises. Unidentified sea turtle in left margin of sheet. Left margin of sheet inscribed "Proteccao Ilhas Galapagos" along w/ a large picture of a frigate bird in flight.

40000db 2011 Geochelone nigra One large tortoise in foreground, facing left / head and neck elevated. Four smaller tortoises in background. Individual stamp w/ tortoise from s/s of two issued this date.

SC 1596 Various 25 May 06 Numerous Species S/S of four stamps and four stamp-like labels, all w/ one or two chelonians. Labels have Boy Scout logo, stamps do not. Several of the chelonians are mis-identified on the stamps and labels.

SC 1596 b 9000db 25 May 06 Terrapene carolina bauri Adult facing right. Unidentified hatchling emerging from egg in upper left corner. Turtle is mis-identified as Pseudemys scripta on stamp.

SC 1596 c 10000db 25 May 06 Unidentified Tortoise Unidentified tortoise facing left, next to flower. Small Clemmys guttata in upper left corner. Stamp inscribed Clemmys insculpta, which is not the correct identity of either of the chelonians depicted.

SC 1596 d 14000db 25 May 06 Trionyx spiniferus Turtle in shallow water facing right. Small Pseudemys scripta elegans in upper left corner.

SC 1606 40000db 25 May 06 Various Tortoises S/S of one stamp w/ tortoises on stamp and in margins. One tortoise in margin is laying eggs and two are mating. Boy scout logo in upper left corner of sheet. All of the tortoises have scientific names under them in small print but almost every one is mis-named, including the one on the stamp.

SC 1743 Various 05 Nov 07 Natator depressus Sheetlet of four stamps and four labels, all w/ underwater scenes and/or a portrait of Jacques Cousteau. One stamp depicts two Natator depressus. Upper margin of sheet inscribed "Vida Marinha". Lower margin inscribed "Jacques Cousteau".

Sheet inscribed "Vida Marinha" in lower right corner in large letters. Much small writing on sheet margin as well.

SC 1747 7000db 05 Nov 07 Lepidochelys olivacea Sheetlet of six stamps, all w/ underwater scenes and w/ denoms of 7000db. Ventral view of turtle and SCUBA diver on one stamp. Sheet inscribed "Paraiso Do Mergulho".
